I just wanted to let you know I think your site is the best on the net. I follow all the news via Newsnow etc. but your site is the most informative and rational.(especially the current crazy times)
Keep up the good work !
Lawrence Booth, now living in Germany but still Birmingham in my heart !!!
Keep right on !
Without wanting to sound OTT – I genuinely think your blog is absolutely brilliant. Ok – it’s just for the Blue noses – but it does exactly what a blog should – in depth, specialist commentary on a particular subject. the articles are well written and researched. you don’t just regurgitate what is said else where. you provide fresh news and perspective. I don’t normally post messages like this but you need to be congratulated.
thank you very much! and good on you.
After seeing headlines in the Sunday Mercury, I can’t wait to read Often Partisan which I believe gives us the most knowledgeable facts & which tells us the truth about what is happening in HK. It may be correct what is in the SM & of course it’s only repeating what you said MAY be the case last Thursday. What I would like to know are the implications of an asset freeze & the future possibility of an asset seizure. Would that mean that someone could buy us on the cheap? Presumably that wouldn’t be a bad thing if they had money to spend on the club. I deliberately avoided using the word “invest”.

I agree with others on this site about that this is a very good site for bluenoses. I am a true Swedish bluenose, living in Carson Yeung’s home town Hong Kong. Still, after almost nine years being here, I cannot read Chinese, so I really appreciate Often Partisan’s analyses of Chinese matters, since he can at least read some more Traditional and Simplified Chinese than I can.
Are Blues the new Portsmouth?
Apparently we are not in the postion of Portsmouth. I disagree. We release (including loanees) about 10 players at the end of the season (Martins, Bentley, Hleb, Phillips, Derbyshire, McFadden, Bowyer, Parnaby, Jiranek, Larson and there might be more i cant think of from the top of my head. These players were on roughly 300k a week which is 15m per year. Add this to Johnson, Gardner, Big Baz, Jerome, Zigic and Dann who are almost certain to leave (must be around another 150k-200k wages which is roughly another 10m a year. This is 25m a year in wages saved alone.
Right onto the Sales. We have already got 15m from Johnson, Gradner and Ferguson. Reports suggest we will get Dann(10m), Jerome(5m), Zigic(5m), Ridgewell(3m). That is lets say for arguements sake 20m to be on the safe side.
So we have/will raise 35m in transfers and save 25m in wages per year plus we will recieve the parachute payments aswell. Understandably we have to and already have signed players but they are for free and i can only imagine not on much wage. We have been reported that we need to recouperate 25m in order to survive. We will have done this with ease and reduced our wage bill by over half so the big question is WHY DO WE NEED TO SELL OR LOAN OUT FOSTER???
He would be a huge player for us and would definate help us get promoted. Is it greed? no, i think we are in serious serious trouble. I am not one of these guys who tries to put a downer on everything but these are figures that can not be ignored. Anyone else agree or disagree as i would like to hear other bluenoses opinions.
KROTTEOTR!!!!
hiya reading your comments i totally agree with what you say, some people believe the money raised is going to Carson Youngs legal fees i dont know wether thats true or not but there is something that does not add up but once a bluenose always a bluenose KRO
I can’t help but feel conned; the suggestion from the club when we ‘relegated’ was that only silly money would result in players being sold off; yet once a number of season tickets were sold, low and behold a miracle, the majority of quality players are ‘sold’ for what the vast majority see as fees below their market value.
has anyone seen any sensible comments from the club – i’ve missed them.
After 45 years of buying season tickets I should realise there is little integrity in the game, only money, and although the club tell me I can apply for a refund on the season ticket, [which would be considered] I’d no doubt end up paying on the gate each week.
Having vented my splean [in a minor way] i’ll leave it to others to blag me, and awaited your announcement of an investor.
Any thoughts on the possible Beausejour move and the Ridgewell transfer request? Looking like a meagre squad is about to get stripped even more bare.
Hi,
I was reccommended to visit this site as I like many bluenoses are very interested in finding more about CY, BIH & Co! I have found that reading all the many pages of writing on this site is very helpful to me and other bluenoses I have shared a link with to this site.
I was wondering if you could perhaps add this link to some of your posts, or suggest this group to anyone that is on fb that visits this site. http://www.facebook.com/groups/119522134814595/
Thanks
we must get these idiots out of our club panu and yeoung there was never no 40million thay have ripped our club apart and now i hear thay want to get rid of more players in january how much more do we blues have to take feel so sorry for chris houghton he is doing is level best even with all these distractions miceal dunford was for blues as was mr wiseman where as the wembley money gone the parachute payment transfer money we want answers and fast and while in maderia to have 1000 euros waved at us by panu adds insult to insult when are we as surporters going to get answers the bottom line we dont care about carson he dont care about us all we care about is bcfc
please pass this on if poss…..
a brugge fan has contacted bcfc and said that in the 23rd minute of every game, the brugge fans start applauding….its to respect a fave player of theirs who died in a car crash….
he has asked the club to ask our guys to join in as a mark of respect….
KRO…..cheers……
Almajir
Re the coach offer…it seems amazingly cheap if it includes a ferry and not a canoe! Do you know much about the guys who are running it…have they done this sort of thing before?By the way I enjoy your site…I’ve been a bluenose for exactly 50 years…I saw my first match in 1961!(I also write for Big Dave’s MIB fanzine)>
Regards
Andy M
I know that they’ve run one to Brugge already this season.
almajir, how about running a pole to see who thinks what about our current owners mate???
personally, i cant stand the thought of them, but, who knows, i could be in the minority…..
i think it might be interesting to find out….
was it you who said that c. y. assets being frozen was self imposed or was it imposed by b.i.h.
if this is the case do you think this might now change as it looks like funding will be stuck in limbo till at least Nov. 2012. at the moment the fear is more player offloading and worse case administration if the overdraft freeze cripples the finances. in sure c.y. will be looking to protect his asset and will be looking for a way around this.
John – neither are true. Carson’s assets have been frozen by the HK Government.
Keep up the good work! We are certainly living up to the old Chinese curse of ‘May you live in interesting times!’ You probably have material for the Sports Book of the Year when this is finally played out. KRO
I see the year end financial reports are delayed again. Any thoughts?

Keep up the good work

Hi almajir! Did you have any knowledge of early parachute payments? I’ve included this link for you to further investigate! cheers! matt kro!http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/pompey_benefit_from_early_parachute_payment_1_3517254
If that’s to be believed we’ve received a million quid.
Hey Almajir, heard Danny Webber is on trial with us on Twitter, Facebook and a couple of forums. Do you know if it’s true?
Yes – a truly good website you’ve set up here – very interesting reading the list of shareholders.
can u write an article on why the likes of zigic and ndaw have been nearly ready for the last 3 weeks? is this pscho babble? other clubs come out and say xyz has done there hamstring he will be out for 6 weeks, blues say nothing and then suggest each player will be fit for every game and then dont even make the bench, a bit annoying really
