Reassurance – OP Editorial on the accounts delay

So, it’s come to pass that the day of reckoning has been postponed once more, and once again Blues fans along with BIH shareholders are left waiting to find out as to the exact financial landscape of the club and the parent company. With this in mind, and taking inspiration from the questions the Hong Kong Stock Exchange have asked prior to BIH shares being relisted, I hereby submit my questions to the board that I believe need answering.

Keep Talking

Birmingham City released a statement on Wednesday via the matchday programme and bcfc.com from Peter Pannu. The statement was like a “state of the club” address; reflections on the previous year and what’s happening next. Having taken a couple of days to digest it, reflect on it and take other’s viewpoints on it I wanted to offer you my thoughts.

Dear Prudence – Pannu Speaks

It started with a tweet from Blues press officer Chris Kershaw promising an extremely positive statement. Peter Pannu has moved to reassure fans that things are ok. After three weeks or so without any news at all, we’ve been graced by two statements in two days. Aren’t we so lucky?

Supporters Trusts – A Way For Fans To Effect Change

So, the news broke. Blues are officially in the toilet financially, and whilst administration hasn’t been discussed by the board (and I’m told is not in the equation in the medium term), it’s going to be a bit of a firesale at St Andrews.

The Sky Is Falling

Birmingham City messageboards, fora and social media sites like Twitter and Facebook have been chock filled to the brim tonight after Colin Tattum of the Birmingham Mail announced via BluesWorld (and subsequently tweeted) that there was to be a report in Wednesday’s paper with a “stark and sobering warning from Peter Pannu about Birmingham City’s financial plight.”

Transparency, Family and Protests…

Midlands Today this evening featured three Bluenoses who have set up a Facebook group demanding the exit of Carson Yeung from BCFC. I’ve spoken about this protest before, and I thought it would be a good idea to watch what they had to say and talk about it on here.

Six Thousand Miles From Home

With the appointments to the board of Ryan Yeung and Peter Pannu, the board of Birmingham City now comprises of people exclusively picked by Carson Yeung to run the club. Right now, it also means the club would be better off holding board meetings in Hong Kong, because nearly all of our board are based out there.

A Long January

I’m not a fan of the transfer window. It’s a time of frenetic activity on the part of broadcasters like Sky Sports News, and a time of panic and worry on the part of Birmingham City fans. You know what it’s like; announcements in the news we’re in for X for £Ymillion, and then for [...]

New Faces

It was announced today that Dr Bruno Wu Zheng has been appointed to the board of Birmingham City Football Club. As many blues fans aren’t that au fait with Chinese millionaires, I thought I’d do a quick write up about him. Dr Wu is a very rich man. Ranked as the 207th richest man in [...]
