Rivals play reserves? Wolves FA Cup preview

Tomorrow sees the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup (sponsored by some weak American beer). It’s a strange one this year; despite being a local derby there does seem to be a lot of apathy and I don’t expect either a massive crowd or strong team selections.

Knocked out but still proud – Europa League review v Maribor

Here are my reflections on the Blues v NK Maribor game tonight at St Andrews. Please be aware that due to me feeling like death with man-flu and vertigo, I watched this on ITV 4.

Hull City Preview

The last week has been a bit of a slog for the Blues and tomorrow sees a third tough away trip in seven days as Birmingham go to the KC Stadium to face Hull City AFC. Despite losing manager Nigel Pearson to Leicester, Hull are still riding fairly high in the Championship table sitting eighth, six places and four points ahead of Blues.

Off to Partizan – the Braga Preview

Wednesday marks the final away game of the Europa League Group stage, and what is potentially Blues’ last trip into Europe for a while – win or draw and we could be back on tour in February in the knockout rounds; lose and that is most likely to be it.

Chim Chiminee – The Burnley preview

Barely seventy two hours after Saturday’s disappointing draw against Peterborough United, Blues are back at St Andrews in the Championship against the Clarets of Burnley. With Burnley currently languishing in twenty-first place and without a win in three, this is an ideal chance for Blues to return to winning ways.

Goals, Goals, Goals? BCFC v Peterborough preview

Tomorrow sees the return of the Championship to St Andrews with the visit of Peterborough United. It’ll have been three weeks since the last home league game and sixteen days since the thrilling draw against Club Brugge, so I suspect I won’t be the only fan chomping at the bit to watch Blues in action again.

Don’t close the N’Daw on Guirane

There’s been a bit of talk online about the supposed three players to leave in January, and who they might be but one player I’ve not seen mentioned is Guirane N’Daw. Our Ivorian central midfielder is on loan from Saint-Etienne until January only – and although Blues have the option to keep him for the remainder of the season I wonder if they will.

Can Blues Stop the Seagulls to Make it Seven? Brighton Preview

It’s been some time since we last played Brighton and Hove Albion – sixteen years in fact since the last league meeting – and both sides have gone through some changes in that time. The Seagulls come to Blues having made a decent start to the season under Gus Poyet, and with Blues on fire formwise recently it promises to be a good fixture.
