On our way again… Wolves replay reflections

Here are my reflections on the Wolves v Blues FA Cup 3rd round replay at Molineux. I should add that like the most of the Wolves fanbase I watched this one on the box.

Rivals play reserves? Wolves FA Cup preview

Tomorrow sees the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup (sponsored by some weak American beer). It’s a strange one this year; despite being a local derby there does seem to be a lot of apathy and I don’t expect either a massive crowd or strong team selections.

Children are the future

Over the past few years, there has often been a criticism levelled at Birmingham City for not bringing through enough youngsters from the academy; for not developing enough of their own talent through the ranks – basically, not giving the kids a go. One positive that I think that can come out of the current financial climate is that maybe Blues will be in a position whereby they are forced to bring more youngsters into the squad.

Palace Preview

After the heartbreak of failure to qualify for the Europa League Knockout stages it’s back to the Championship to face Dougie Freedman’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. If Blues are to continue their push for the playoffs and beyond this is the sort of game that they will need to get a result from.

Much too Much to ask of Mutch?

Despite not having figured in the Blues first team since the 1-0 win over Coventry back on August 13, manager Chris Hughton has confirmed that Jordon Mutch will be in the match day squad for the crunch tie against Maribor tonight at St Andrews. There’s been a bit of a clamour on messageboards for Mutch’s return with central midfield considered the weak link in the Blues team, and I thought I’d discuss it.

Hull City Preview

The last week has been a bit of a slog for the Blues and tomorrow sees a third tough away trip in seven days as Birmingham go to the KC Stadium to face Hull City AFC. Despite losing manager Nigel Pearson to Leicester, Hull are still riding fairly high in the Championship table sitting eighth, six places and four points ahead of Blues.

Chim Chiminee – The Burnley preview

Barely seventy two hours after Saturday’s disappointing draw against Peterborough United, Blues are back at St Andrews in the Championship against the Clarets of Burnley. With Burnley currently languishing in twenty-first place and without a win in three, this is an ideal chance for Blues to return to winning ways.

Goals, Goals, Goals? BCFC v Peterborough preview

Tomorrow sees the return of the Championship to St Andrews with the visit of Peterborough United. It’ll have been three weeks since the last home league game and sixteen days since the thrilling draw against Club Brugge, so I suspect I won’t be the only fan chomping at the bit to watch Blues in action again.
