The Caddis Controversy

As the season draws it near one thing that seems to have been prevalent over Blues pre-season campaign has been Gary Rowett’s stubborn insistence on playing any other right-back than Paul Caddis. Michael Morrison is potentially a doubt for the weekend having been substituted “as a precaution” in the Capital One Cup win over Bristol Rovers. With David Edgar having been loaned out to Sheffield United without a recall clause it potentially leaves Blues with two fit centre-backs – Paul Robinson and Jonathan Spector – for the clash with Burnley at the weekend.

Defensive Cover

Since the collapse of the signing of Rob Kiernan a few weeks back, Birmingham City have not brought in any defenders to strengthen their back line. Although Blues go into the season with four seasoned centre-backs, there are concerns among some sections of fans with respect to David Edgar, Jonathan Spector and Paul Robinson being up to the task.
