GAMEDAY – Norwich at home

Mediocrity and Boredom

A late goal denied Blues all three points on Tuesday as Gary Rowett’s men continued their unbeaten start to the league season. David Davis’ first half finish after Clayton Donaldson had his penalty save was cancelled out late on as one again Craig Davies scored past the team he supported as a youngster. With Blues on five points after three games, have people like me been overly harsh on the team?

The Bromsgrove Pulis – Cardiff Reflections

Birmingham City started their league campaign at St Andrew’s with a goalless draw against Cardiff City. In a game where chances for the home side were at a premium, it once again took the introduction of some of the younger members of the squad for Blues to look like scoring.

Insipid Blues Lose to Hibs in Flat Friendly

Birmingham City went down 1-0 to Hibernian at Easter Road this afternoon in a very flat performance. Hibs, who put out a virtual second string side, didn’t have the lion’s share of possession but looked threatening in front of goal and it was no surprise when James Keatings finally broke the deadlock.

Moors Deny Young Blues in Senior Cup Final

A Darryl Knights brace was enough to win Solihull Moors the Birmingham Senior Cup and complete a double season for Marcus Bignot’s men. Blues had made plenty of chances in the second half and hit the woodwork twice but couldn’t finish the National League North Champions.

Alex Jones Shows He’s The One for Rowett?

Alex Jones scored a first half hat-trick in Birmingham City u21’s 3-0 to give Gary Rowett a timely reminder that there is another youthful option within the ranks. The former West Brom forward was due to spend the second half of the season on loan in New Zealand but red tape ensured that loan didn’t happen and Jones returned to Blues.

The Reece Brown Situation II

Brian Dick of the Birmingham Mail broke the news last night that Reece Brown has been suspended by Blues pending an internal investigation. The 20-year-old midfielder has made just two appearances for the Blues first team this season and has not featured in an u21 game since 22 February.
