Birmingham City slipped to an embarrassing 1-0 defeat after extra time to League One side Oxford United in the EFL Cup last night. A 120th minute goal from Liam Sercombe was all that separated the two sides and came just as the match looked to be headed for penalties.

Viv to Play in Rio

Maghoma Signs On

Jacques Maghoma became the latest Blues player to sign an extended contract with the club following the announcement from the official site that the Congolese winger had signed a new deal keeping him at St Andrew’s til 2018.

A Christmas Cracker – MK Dons Reflections

Birmingham City returned to winning ways for the second game in succession at St Andrew’s against MK Dons. Jacques Maghoma scored his first goal at home in Blues colours to settle the game but in fairness the 1-0 scoreline flattered the visitors.

The Rise of… Viv Solomon-Otabor

Viv Solomon-Otabor capped off a 5-2 win against Fulham at the weekend with his first professional goal. Running from inside his own half, the Nigerian youngster forced Richard Stearman to backpedal for 40 yards before cutting back inside, dumping the Fulham defender unceremoniously on his backside in the process and lashing home from inside the area.
