Six to go

Blues have confirmed that six out-of-contract players will not be offered new deals for next season and will leave the club. Mark Duffy, Neal Eardley, David Edgar, Lee Novak and Wes Thomas join Mitch Hancox on the non-retained list with only club skipper Paul Robinson’s future left to be sorted.

The case for the defence

This week Gary Rowett and Blues will have to confirm which of their players whose contracts expire this summer will be offered a new deal to stay at St Andrew’s beyond June 2016. Unlike the past few years, the number of players who could leave is a lot lower and subsequently, it’s probable that only one – Paul Robinson – will be offered a new deal.

The Future

Birmingham City blew a two goal lead to draw with Preston North End at St Andrew’s last night. A brace from Clayton Donaldson had put Gary Rowett’s men into a good position but late goals from Alan Brown and Greg Cunningham ensured Simon Grayson’s team returned north with a share of the spoils.
