Panos Pavlakis
Capitalising on Success
Blues continued their fine run of form yesterday, beating Queens Park Rangers 2-1 thanks to a header from Paul Robinson and a Paul Caddis penalty. The result leaves them level on points with 2nd place on 21, and as the second highest goalscorers in the Championship with 18 – only QPR with 19 have more.

Building a good dialogue
Birmingham City’s head honcho Panos Pavlakis has recently given an interview to Brian Dick of the Birmingham Mail, answering some of the questions posed by Blues fans (including myself) recently – such as if the club are planning to give Gary Rowett a more lucrative contract, what the spending plans are and what plans Trillion Trophy Asia have for BCFC.

The Gray Situation
News has broken this evening on the Guardian website that Leciester City have agreed to pay the release clause in Dimmi Gray’s contract – reported to be £4.7m. Gray signed a new contract for three years at St Andrew’s last month but apparently that has done little to halt the speculation surrounding his future at the club.

Time to Prove the Doubters Wrong
It emerged yesterday Diego Fabbrini is set to sign for Middlesbrough on a year-long loan, finally ending the pursuit in the Italian by Blues following his short loan spell at St Andrew’s last season.

Walk the Line
June so far has been a very frustrating month. With so little action in B9 it’s almost impossible to talk about players coming in – and what rumours there have been seem to have been met with massive amounts of ambivalence due to the perceived quality of incoming players.

Keeping the Conversation About Football
The transfer window may have now officially opened but it’s still very quiet at St Andrew’s. Despite links to a few players – including Christian Ribeiro of Exeter City yesterday, Blues have yet to sign a senior player this transfer window – a sea change from this point last year when Blues were about to make it a round half-dozen with the signings of David Edgar and Gavin Gunning.

By The Book
On this day one year ago, Lee Clark experimented with probably one of the craziest team selections I’ve ever seen. It was a balanced team – five outfield players were right-footed, five were left-footed; however, three quarters of the defence were playing out of their normal position and the result was inevitable; within half an hour we were three down and by half-time it was four.

The new board consists of the receivers alone – however Panos and Victor Ma remain directors at club level.

Anticlimax
Transfer deadline day reached an anti-climactic conclusion with Birmingham City resisting all attempts by Bournemouth to prise away teenage winger Demarai Gray. Despite making a fifth bid believed to be in the region of £5mil, Blues turned it down flat saying that the 18-year-old wunderkind was not for sale.

The Hokey Cokey
Birmingham International Holdings announced yesterday the re-appointment of Panos Pavlakis as an Executive Director along with Li Hanguo and Liu Enxue as Independent Non-Executive Directors, one day after they failed re-election at the company’s AGM.
