Attacking Intent

Birmingham City inflicted Fulham’s first league defeat of the season yesterday at Craven Cottage. Clayton Donaldson’s second half penalty was the only goal of the game but Blues could and should have scored more in what was a good display of attacking intent.

Insipid Blues Lose to Hibs in Flat Friendly

Birmingham City went down 1-0 to Hibernian at Easter Road this afternoon in a very flat performance. Hibs, who put out a virtual second string side, didn’t have the lion’s share of possession but looked threatening in front of goal and it was no surprise when James Keatings finally broke the deadlock.

Easter News Roundup

Two Points Dropped – Wolves Reflections

Birmingham City failed to score for the fifth game in a row away from home as they were held to a goalless draw at Molineux. Clayton Donaldson, Jon Toral and David Davis all had chances to score in the second half but only David Davis was able to test Carl Ikeme who proved to be up to the challenge.

Jacques Maghoma

While it was an ugly win for Blues against Bolton on Tuesday there were a few players who caught the eye as having great games. The club eulogised on social media about Diego Fabbrini’s flip-flap before the goal along with two passes from Jon Toral. However, I think they overlooked a player who has become increasingly important for us of late – Jacques Maghoma.

Bolton Reflections – Winning Ugly

Birmingham City got the win they wanted against Bolton on Tuesday night thanks to Clayton Donaldson’s 29th minute winner – but they could and should have more against a Trotters side that looked devoid of hope.
