What If?

Blues completed their league campaign with a 1-1 draw against Cardiff, giving them a 10th placed finish with 63 points – exactly the same as a season ago. David Cotterill’s fourth goal of the season was cancelled out by Anthony Pilkington as Blues couldn’t quite sign off with a victory.

The Future

Birmingham City blew a two goal lead to draw with Preston North End at St Andrew’s last night. A brace from Clayton Donaldson had put Gary Rowett’s men into a good position but late goals from Alan Brown and Greg Cunningham ensured Simon Grayson’s team returned north with a share of the spoils.

Burnley Reflections

Birmingham City lost 2-1 at home for the third successive game, this time going down to goals from George Boyd and Andre Gray. Jacques Maghoma had got the Blues back on terms but it wasn’t enough to get a share of the points.

Hoping for Better Things

Birmingham City continued their patchy form of late, going down to an injury-time goal from Jorge Teixeira in a 2-1 defeat to Charlton. Jon Toral had opened the scoring for Blues in the first half but they were pegged back by a Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson equaliser within six minutes.

The Promotion Push

The international break is over, and on Saturday begins a sequence of eight games in 27 days that could be the difference between being playoff contenders and also-rans. Can we still dare to dream?

Fulham Reflections

Birmingham City were held to a frustrating draw at home to Fulham in a game that has rocked their chances of a late playoff push. Michael Morrison’s header cancelled out Rohan Ince’s first half opener but despite throwing everything that they could at the Cottagers’ back line, once again Blues were restricted to a single point.
