Upcoming Supporters Club Forum

Blues will be holding another supporters’ club forum on Thursday 16 April and I’m pleased to be able to say that I will be attending. While they won’t be able to answer questions on the ongoing froo-fraw in HK what they can and will talk about is the matchday experience, ticketing and other day-to-day concerns.

Passion and Experimentation

Blues go into the international break on the back of a poor defeat to Cardiff City, their first reverse in five games. Goals from Eoin Doyle and a penalty from Peter Whittingham secured the points for the hosts who won their first home game since January 10.

Scrapping Against The Terriers: Huddersfield Match Reflections

Birmingham City extended their unbeaten run to a fourth game but it was no classic at St Andrew’s yesterday. A Joe Lolley effort from close range cancelled out David Cotterill’s opener and for much of the game bad passing and poor ball retention cancelled out good play from both sides.

Like Watching Two Lee Clark Teams: Blackpool Match Reflections

Birmingham City ground out a second 1-0 win in five days last night against a Blackpool side that is now all but relegated. An Andrew Shinnie header was all that seperated the two teams in what was a dour encounter.

The McLeish Saga: Yet another statement

Tuesday 14th June was quite a momentous day in midlands football. Despite all three parties supposedly keeping their counsel and leaving it in the hands of lawyers, all three – McLeish, Aston Villa FC and Birmingham City FC made statements with varying degrees of bombast about how they were right, the others were wrong and that they were having the last word. Billy Smart would have nothing on the sideshow that yesterday was.
