OP in HK – How Deep is Our Love?

It’s my last evening in Hong Kong tonight, and as such I accepted the invitation of a friend of mine to watch the Leicester game at a bar he owns (no, it’s not a girlie bar before you ask – it’s not even in Wan Chai). Watching the game and talking to my friend I thought about the way HK views football in England and I thought they were thoughts worth sharing.

OP in HK – Is this the End for Carson?

While the saga of the takeover by Trillion Trophy Asia rumbles on, BIH’s current major shareholder Carson Yeung faces an uncertain time. His final appeal against his money laundering conviction will be heard on May 31 in the Court of Final Appeal – will he emerge a free man or will he have to return to jail to serve out the remainder of his sentence?

OP Video Podcast – Who else is involved in TTA

I recorded a little video down by the harbour today talking about who else is behind TTA. I’m not going to lie – although I’m confident on at least one of the people definitely being involved this is heading into speculation territory now. Still, with the EGM hopefully being announced soon we should know more soon enough.

OP in Hong Kong – Day 5 – The Future Pt 2

One of the main reasons I came to Hong Kong was because not every piece of information needed about what is happening is available online. While I’ve made as much use of public information records as I can, there comes a time when you need to speak to people to get a true feel for what is going on.

OP in Hong Kong – Day 5 pt 1 – The Future

Will the club be taken over during the summer? Will there be money for players to be signed?

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been asked those questions in the last few days. Without a crystal ball it’s impossible to say anything for definite – and let’s be honest, if I was that clairvoyant I’d be giving Mystic Meg a run for her money.

OP in HK – Day 4 – The Announcement

Yesterday saw an announcement made to the HKSE, confirming that BIH have reached an agreement with U-Continent and also putting into the public domain some of what will happen with the upcoming EGM.

OP Video Podcast – Desperately Seeking Suen Pt 2

Today I went to try and find out more about the man who would take over Birmingham International Holdings; to seek the offices of Trillion Trophy Asia and see if we could find out who Paul Suen Cho Hung is and what kind of person he might be.

OP in HK – Day 3 – Desperately Seeking Suen Pt 1

Birmingham International Holdings have been in negotiation with Trillion Trophy Asia now for nearly a year for the sale of the holding company and/or Birmingham City FC. Very little is known about TTA – a situation I aimed to rectify today.

OP in Hong Kong – Day 2 – BIH

In the last 18 months have been eventful for Birmingham International Holdings. Following the removal of Peter Pannu as CEO and MD, the company underwent seismic changes that eventually brought about the appointment of Receivers and potentially the end of the Carson era. Are we close to seeing the next change as the receivers move on and a new board comes in?

OP in Hong Kong – Day 1 – Arrival.

With the season now petering out to a lukewarm conclusion and all dreams of playoffs and promotion now completely dead, I think the time has come for us to be able to take our focus away from matters on the pitch and look at what is happening behind the scenes.
