Landmark Ruling Gives Carson Appeal Hope

A landmark ruling made yesterday in Hong Kong’s Court of Final Appeal has given Carson Yeung fresh hope that his own appeal against his conviction for money laundering will be successful. The Court of Final Appeal unanimously overturned the conviction of Pang Hung Fai for money laundering confirming that defendants needed more protection from the courts on the second limb of the offence.

Carson Bail Application Hearing Set

It has been confirmed in Hong Kong today that Carson Yeung has applied for bail pending his appeal hearing and that the application will be heard on Thursday, August 21.

Carson Appeal Delayed

Carson Yeung was convicted of five counts of money laundering in March 2014 and sentenced to serve six years in jail. While it has been confirmed that he has appealed against his conviction, there has been little word about Carson’s appeal since the conviction – when it is due to happen or if he is to apply for bail pending appeal.

Carson’s Confiscation Hearing

Edit: 13:10 BST 02 April: I have been told in the last five minutes that the hearing will be adjourned until after the appeal

Carson Yeung is back in court tomorrow to hear if the Hong Kong authorities will be able to confiscate his assets. Carson’s assets were frozen by a restraint order shortly after he was arrested and with his conviction now secured the Department of Justice will move to take them from him.

Carson Yeung Files Appeal

Carson Yeung today has officially lodged his appeal against his money laundering conviction. The 54-year-old former Blues supremo was convicted of five counts of money laundering on March 3 and sentenced to six years imprisonment.

Carson taken to tough HK Prison

According to reports in Hong Kong, former Birmingham City President Carson Yeung was transferred from Lai Chi Kok remand centre to Stanley Prison on the south of Hong Kong Island on Friday night.
