News on Blues Young Loanees
Whilst we wait for the impending loan signing of Ben Gordon to complete, there has been some activity surrounding Birmingham City’s own youngsters that I thought I would round up for you.
Fraser Kerr has signed for Motherwell on a six month loan deal after impressing on trial. The young Scottish centre back originally came to Blues from Fir Park and will now be pushing for first team action at the Scottish Premier League club to further his footballing education. Kerr is contracted to Blues until the end of this season, and whilst he has not yet made a first team appearance he did impress on the pre-season tour to China at the start of the 2010-11 season.
Blues loanee Graham Hutchison is set to make his senior debut for Lincoln City this weekend to help solve an injury crisis that has rocked the Sincil Bank club. Manager (and ex-Blues defender) David Holdsworth has been impressed with Hutchison since he signed a year-long youth loan deal at the Blue Square Bet Premier outfit and seems happy enough to give Hutchison his first taste of action against Kidderminster.
Meanwhile, Ashley Sammons who was released by Blues at the end of last season after recovering from a horrific knee injury has been picked up by Blue Square Bet Premier side Hereford United. The 20-year-old midfielder had been trialling with Walsall but was released by the League One side last week.

Gordon has signed – just confirmed on Blues website.
great signings on the whole this summer but I am still a little concerned over defensive cover. We only have 3 senior centre backs, one true right back (Spector doesnt count for me) and only 1 senior left back??
2 or 3 injuries and we’d be down to the kids…
Anyone else concerned about this?
KRO
Mark – we’ve picked up Gordon today so that’s left back cover sorted.
Its all about availability but , Liverpool’s Danny Wilson is a very promising Centre Back ,
comfotable on the ball , & can play left back.
Would be a good loan ..
What is the latest on blues’ away strip ?
To be released in September.
If Gordon has been signed purely as cover for LB then he wont get many games. Which would probably mean him leaving in Jan dissatisfied. This would be a real shame as he is a very good young player soon to be available cheaply. LC may use him at LW as we are short of personnel there as well.
I reckon he’s got faith in the kids, Packwood, Deaman etc
I’m baffled by the Morrison and Gordon signings. The last time we signed Yongye fringe premier players they went straight into the first time ie Larsson, Muamba and Bentner. Is this expectation of Gordon and Morrison that they will be first choice players and if so this could affect team spirit
At long last, we are getting a defensive player (Gordon), and it really is something we need. It was the left flank absence that hurt us before, so this looks promising. Hope he fits in well with Butland / Doyle, as well as the other back three, whether he sits in centre or left back.
Roll on the 18th.
Another two signings yet bit like Elliot and inbanez
