Wu Are You?

with thanks to Mike for emailing it to me and 87Dominguez on the official forum for spotting it.

Birmingham City director Bruno Wu has been making a splash in Los Angeles the last couple of months, unveiling huge funds to support film production and to create a production hub in China.

The New York Times reported in February that Dr Wu had unveiled an $800million Chinese fund to back film projects and create a distribution project for the film industry in China.

Yahoo reported a fortnight ago that Mr Wu had unveiled a $1.27billion project to build a media production hub dubbed “Chinawood” in the Chinese city of Tianjin, to be opened in October 2012.

Mr Wu has been a director of Birmingham City Football Club PLC since October 15, 2010, and is listed as a current member of the board on the official website.

Bearing in mind Blues have been looking for inward investment into the club is it possible that they should have been looking closer to home?

    Hang on…

A £2bn project to be built in what, 4 months?

These Chinese Builders must be on Acid!

I’ll have a look on my construction forums, to see if any dudes over there in China know any more about this.

    Sounds Great though! WOW

  • DoctorD says:

You’re sure he’s the same Bruno Wu, are you? He could make an epic film about the Blues’ season this year.

  • Reeboh says:

Well, looking at Tianjin, it’s certainly the place to put your money in at the moment! It’s booming Economically!

  • Berkshire Blue says:

Is it Dr Wu or Mr Wu?. I thought Dr Wu was a Steely Dan song…

  • Blue in Spain says:

Almajir, read Poxey Moxleys article in the Mail today, firstly who is Hughes, the Birmingham manager, and secondly, tell me now he just doesn’t regurgitate crap. The guy is a disgrace!

    • Agent McLeish says:

Either Moxley is an ignorant muppet or Blues have appointed a new manager! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2142695/Birmingham-boss-Chris-Hughes-fears-sale-play-setback.html

I have been posting all season on here, about the d.mail & moxley.
A disgraceful (so called) journalist has been writing made~up or rumoured stories ever since CHRIS HUGHTON got appointed as BLUES manager.
Moxley didn’t rate CHRIS HUGHTON,so any chance of slagging the manager or BLUES, moxley has put in print, even if the story was not true.
The d.mail even predicted,in a champ/blog,that C`H,would be sacked before xmas last year.
And now they tell us are manager has changed his name to Hughes or God forbid Lee Hughes has been appointed as BLUES new manager !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALAMJIR……..Any chance of you putting a few questions to moxley, the same way you did with the d.mirror muppet ?????

        K`R`O.

I did do an interview with Neil Moxley – which you can view http://www.oftenpartisan.co.uk/archives/2757/neil-moxley-interview.html

Ref the headline – that’s not something that would have been Mox’s fault; journos don’t write the headlines, that’s the remit of whoever is subediting the piece. I understand that it’s been changed.

In fairness, whilst I don’t always agree with Neil’s words I do think he’s one of the better journos out there.

  • Rayzorblue says:

Blue in Spain, I’ve just read that article and have to say this guy is nothing more than a s**t stirrer ! I’d love to know how he bases his “facts” about certain players being sold ! more like a stab in the dark hoping he may one day get one of his predictions right !!!

  • Mickey07 says:

So are you thinking this is the new investor mayor?

    • almajir says:

Mickey – how did you come to that conclusion?

      Seriously?

      • Mickey07 says:

Because you know more about things than your average blues supporter……do you think that might be our new investor??

        • almajir says:

Mickey, I think the point the article made was that Wu has plenty of money and has stuck nowt into the club.

Ask yourself, with that in mind, do I think that Wu is the “investor”?

          Seriously.

  • Jay Sidney says:

Best not to get distracted by this Moxley or any other hack. The anger against worthless muck-rackers like Moxley and his ilk is understandable but surely it would be better if Blues fans start asking why Bruno Wu (and other BCFC directors) appear NOT to be investing in the club they currently own (especially with the horrible financial mess the club is clearly in) because this seems to be the real nub of the problem. In short, is it not time this crew either put up or else announce they will listen to any serious offers for BCFC.

Mickey07 asks the interesting question as to whether Bruno Wu may be the new investor. However, Wu has been on the Blues board since October 2010 so, if he was serious about investing in the club, wouldn’t he have made his move sooner?

  • Wingman Blue says:

I think you’re a bit out of date Al, I’ve just heard on the radio that Mr Wu’s a window cleaner now!

  • Paul Carter says:

This man has no affinity with, affection for or interest in our club.

The above applies to all our board

    Sooner they’ve gone the better

  • chris clarke says:

Things are now becoming a lot more clearer as mr wu’s a window cleaner now

ha ha turned out nice again

    KRO

  • JohnnyZulu says:

Bruno Wu is just another empty shirt on the Blues board like McManaman. Neil Moxley slaughtered Hughton on twitter when he was appointed and is as bad (almost) as James Nursey for making up stories and having no regard for facts
