Who is Yang Yuezhou?
The BBC broke news this afternoon of the man who runs Inkhata Group Ltd, giving a name of Yang Yuezhou. I received a few requests on twitter almost immediately to dig up what I could on the guy, and I’m pleased to say after a couple of false starts I think I’ve found him.
First of all, I think it’s worth confirming that Mr Yang is the guy behind Inkhata, which I can do via this notice filed to the HKSE this afternoon. As you can see, Inkhata are putting forward the entirety of the £6mil for the convertible notes, and should they convert them to shares Mr Yang will become the second highest shareholder in BIH based on current shareholder structure.
So who is Yang Yuezhou? I believe that he’s the chairman of Qinghai China Hui Industrial Ltd, which is based in Xining, central China. He’s 41 years old, and a resident of Guangdong – which has been suggested by various rumours I’ve talked about previously. Mr Yang is in real estate, and has been a succesful developer of four projects in Qinghai.
Other than that, there isn’t much more I can currently add, although I’m now doing my best to research him and his business. As I find more info, I’ll do my best to update the blog.

There is a Japanese fan factory in a town or province called Yuezhou owned by a Lulu Yang (truely). It would be ironic if she became own of our biggest fans!
I’ll get me coat!
This must be good news , do you not think Almajir?
I think it’s too early to tell if it’s good news or not.
Six million is nothin in the relative terms!
I’d be happy one of my relative had £6m
It’s not a massive amount but if it keeps the club ticking over for a few months at least it has to be worth it, and if nothing else with an extra £6 million in the bank hopefully it will mean we won’t have to allow Dann, Jerome or anyone else to go for less than they are truly worth…
any news of BIH been supported with cash is good news as htey own the Blues.
This is a small amount in football terms but Yang may just want a toe hold in the company
just waiting for out come of trial against CY
Just reread the report .I hope his interest in real estate does not extend to stans
14% is a familiar figure
Real estate…hmmm?
From the picture he may be a Terra Cotta Warrior, if so there’s plenty more to pass the 14% onto if necessary!
Great work Almajir as usual. The Chinese do not normally throw good money after bad and my “perception” is that there is a replacement / backer for CY and we will see a rescue of some sort soon after 11th August if the case goes against CY. Let’s hope that any “white knight” has real substance!!
China is buying up the World, all the steel, all the timber and has lent USA Trillions to get them out of thier troubles.
Hopefully we will get more legal Chineses investors. There may just be a pot of gold at the end of the long, long road.
well i for one am a bit weary about this because unless im having a off day but after extensive searching i cant find anything anywhere to do the person or inkatha or qinghai china hu ind ltd please dont say another dodgy deal
Looks like you got hold of his prison mug shot.
We are also due 8mil off the premier league and have signed a 1 year sponsorship deal; which means that we should be set for the year in terms of current teams wage bill. But even if it was til Jan, all we have to do is win the play offs and we will get over 1m just for getting into Europa league group stages
Ben – Parachute payment for one season is £16mil.
A new name was put forward by Col (who i am sure you have read his reports). This name is Zhang Gongjun have you any more info on him Almajir please.
I have to say Glyn, that name means nothing to me, and I can’t see a link.
Ok thanks Almajir
Not gonna bother keep buying Sunday Mercury, when I can get it all from Almajir on here for free!
