Frustration and LAG

Today has been a frustrating day as a Blues fan. I was hoping that I’d be able to write about a new signing or two on loan and have discussion move away from LAG (Life After Gary) and to a more upbeat topic. Alas, it’s not to be – we’re still waiting Blues to bring in someone to cover Donaldson’s injury and the speculation over Rowett’s future has become ever more rampant.

As it stands there has been nothing official from Blues to say Rowett has asked for or received permission to talk to Fulham and a denial from the club that Fulham have approached them to speak to Gary. The betting markets have massively installed Gary Rowett as favourite for the hotseat at Craven Cottage which indicates that gamblers are putting money on it – why they are doing that is another story and until betting is suspended I see it as nothing more than the speculation that’s already in the media.

I will admit that I do worry as to what would happen in the hypothetical situation that Rowett did move to somewhere like Fulham. I’m not going to be as melodramatic as one of my friends who said he doesn’t believe BCFC would recover from Rowett leaving but I do think it would be very divisive. You only have to look at the comments on here to see the split between those who would say “don’t blame him, no money, no ambition, no takeover etc” and those like me who would be disappointed to see him leave for a head coach role at a club that hasn’t been patient with bosses after Rowett has talked about liking having autonomy, control etc.

There is no doubt in my mind it would undo the good work that has been done over the last year – especially if no one was brought in on loan. I’m not one “to have drunk the Kool-Aid”; I do question what I am told but I have no reason to disbelieve that the reasons players have not been brought in is down to things other than money. The inaction from BCFC in bringing in a replacement for Donaldson has only allowed the negativity to resurface and to bring back to the fore the doom-mongers who go on about the club being skint etc.

Rowett is due to give his pre-match presser tomorrow at 12:30. While I doubt very much it will be, one would hope it would also be an opportunity to introduce a new face or two to the media ahead of their potential debuts. I’ll be honest and say that I don’t care for questions put to him about opportunities elsewhere for the simple reason that I think words are pretty empty; it’s all about actions. If come 5pm Blues haven’t brought anyone in – I really do think that our chances of remaining in the top six will take a hefty blow – and I will be left wondering as to why it was left so late to try and bring in cover.

I will admit that when Rowett left us as player, I was heartbroken. He was my favourite player at the club for a couple of seasons and although we got good money for him it was a reminder that football heroes are transient – that there is no loyalty in this sport. These days I’m a bit greyer in the hair department, a lot wider in the waist department and much more cynical than I was then. I won’t be heartbroken if it turns out Rowett does want to leave for pastures new, but I’ll be disappointed that once again he will have left before the achieveable job of promotion was fully completed.

I would be totally disgusted if GR left for Fulham, mainly on the point that he kept Grey here at Blues as he didn’t want him to go, and that this was the right club for him, from that statement, I took it that GR was here to do a job, and build on from what he knew would be a challenge when taking the role.

If we’re honest, we are ahead of expectation, and with a few wins, could really seal a chance for top 6.

I trust he stands, by his standards, and leads from the front.

    KRO

  • Dave Mann says:

Grigga, he will stay so calm down and don’t get to disgusted . Kro

    • chris says:

I agree, can’t say 100% he won’t go but i would suggest it’s not just down to him as i’m pretty sure it would involve most of his backroom staff agreeing to move with him and they may not want to move.
Also, Fulham only want a head coach so will they want all GR’s current backroom staff, if not, that may well put GR off moving there.
I would agree with some others that i think GR and his backroom staff should/could easlily come out and state we are not moving anywhere during this current season.
He lives at home each night with his children so i doubt this would be possible in London and imo (fingers crossed) he won’t surrender that daily contact with his children.
Not finding a loan signing i would say may well be out of our control as we should only sign someone who can go straight into the first team and make a difference otherwise is just pushes back other subs off the bench and we may well may not be able to afford those sort of loans.

  • StaffsBlue says:

I wouldn’t be disgusted or disappointed if the manager went. It’s only what I expect from both managers and players these days. For me, if someone doesn’t want to be here, I’m not particularly ar$ed. I just hope the lack of transfer activity isn’t because the rumours are true.

  • ChrisG says:

At first I thought this was just media tallk, but it always bothers me when either a player or manager doesn’t publically come out & say they’re not interested in a move & want to reasure everyone involved in the club that thay plan to carry on what they’ve started. Rowett has not publically ruled himself out so it’s obvious he is interested in a move. If he does go then he’ll have left us totally in the shit having loaned out all our strikers with no chance of recall ( which stay or go was very nieve). If he goes to Fulham, good riddance I say, he’ll be out of work by the end of the season.

    • AdamTrueBlue says:

Tend to disagree, if GR did go to fulham and did what he usually does and gets just an extra 10% from his players then I think Fulham would be in contention after they passed us.

  • peter bates says:

Personally I would have liked panos saying that we won’t entertain an approach for Gary Rowett and that he his going nowhere I think Gary is a loyal person so lets hope so Fulham is a step sideways and Gary is the manager at blues and at Fulham or qpr he would be a coach there is a difference at blues he runs the team and affairs surrounding it and a reminder to Gary the players who committed to new contracts committed because of there belief in him ignore it Gary and lets finish the good thing you have started at blues kro

  • Hillfield Blues says:

The fact that we haven’t yet signed a striker when we are obviously in dire need is beginning to make me think if there are actually funds available to do anything. When Wolves signed centre half Mike Williamson on loan Rowett went on record as saying we couldn’t compete in that sort of loan market….hardly John Terry is he.We waited all summer for a decent signing at CH that never came after the dallying with Kiernan.I know you have your sources that say there’s money available Dan but surely with a few hours to go before this deadline he should have got a couple of new faces in by now?Its the only reason I can think of that GR would want to walk away.

  • Stan moye says:

There is a fantastic opportunity for Blues to demonstrate true intentions. Get GR and his team signed up on an improved deal and fund a couple of signings that would sent out a positive message to the fans and other clubs sniffing around in the process. It is so frustrating after the CY era to be so close to potentially let it all slip away.

  • Dave Mann says:

Your slagging him off without nowing what’s going one for Christ sake .. Give the guy a chance to have is say .. and he will let us know , Gordon Bennett ! Kro

  • Dave Mann says:

    Bad spelling, sorry .

  • AdamTrueBlue says:

I think if LC had still been here or many ither managers they would have panicked and brought in the first player willing to sign on the dotted line, that has not happened and can be interpreted as GR sticking to his word and waiting for the right player for the right position.

    • Hillfield Blues says:

Bloody hell.If being picky is his problem he needs to pull his finger out Adam. We’ve got no strikers!

    • almajir says:

Time to be picky is over – beggars cannot be choosers

      • zxcv says:

Dan We shouldn`t be beggars tho should we, not if it was true what they told you that we would have the majority of the loan from TTA to spend on the team. Don`t think 450 grand is majority of 13 Million. Was you/us lied to.?

        • almajir says:

I think you need to understand that a) the money is to be spent over the season and b) on the CLUB not the team, which means it’s not just for transfer fees. We dished out seven new improved contracts – where do you think the money came from for that?

Also, for the record you completely misinterpreted my comment. I said beggars can’t be choosers as it’s late in the window and there is very little available player wise – so we can’t be picky cos there is nothing to left to be picky about.

          • zxcv says:

Oh dear me Daniel you are really scraping the barrel now mate. 1, There is not a club in the world that would pay up every contract out in full from when it is signed is there? if the contract is for three years then the money does not come out of the first years budget it even been earned yet fgs…2,You told us you were awaiting the reply from a email you sent requesting how much of the loan would be able to spend on the TEAM, later that same day I think it was you updated us saying you had recived an email saying the majority of it was for the team. I distinctly remember people on Freeforum and other sites saying that must means at least 6 .5 million to spend. We have spent 4/5 grand nmate so please do not try to pull the wool over my eyes I am to old in the tooth for that. Do you really believe we pay the whole of those contracts up fot the next 3 years, ? I thought you had more about you than that Dan tbh.

          • almajir says:

You know what mate, you know best. Why even bother asking me a question?

          • Tony says:

This point was raised by myself ages ago the majority of 13mill was to go on the team, up to now there has been less than £500 thou.
It has to be said there’s an awful lot of bullshit flying around. why has Rowett left things so long if the money is available? why was that statement made in the first place?
Dan could you consider you have been sold a bum steer by your sources at the club?.it wouldn’t be the first time the staff have acted in a strange way i.e. Clark you know what was allegedly going on there as well as myself . you went out on a limb to assure me and others the dough was there, well where the hell is it?. If it turns out there is money available the its Rowetts fault he knew the situation was dire it has been for a long time he should have acted.

          • almajir says:

Tony – see my reply to zxcv and understand what budget for the CLUB means

          • zxcv says:

Spot on Tony, thought I was going barmy for a moment glad you recall it as well. I really think we should be told what the hells going on.

        • Hillfield Blues says:

Think he’s referring to the time we have left to do anything mate.

          • zxcv says:

Correct mate, He has known all season we have no cover, up front or even at c/h. why bloody leave it until the last day fgs.

          • StaffsBlue says:

I really think that if Donaldson hadn’t been injured, we wouldn’t have been in the market for any players this window, regardless of what’s been hinted at. This injury is what every fan has been expecting all season.. we should have been prepared for it. Obviously we weren’t. It’s a distinct lack of forward thinking for me. Let’s hope a rabbit can be pulled out of the hat in the next 19 hours.

          • zxcv says:

Exactly spot on Staffs. Someone imo is telling porkies,Its got now`t 100% nothing to do with having to renew contracts. They are still only paid monthly salaries just at the rate of the new contract, nothing to do whatsoever with new money for this years budget.

  • zxcv says:

Dan, Do you know if Panos is back from Hong kong yet.

  • andy says:

Gary Rowett has tried to bring players in, don’t forget it was only last Friday that he was thwarted in bids to bring 2 players in, clubs are reluctant to let the players go that Rowett wants and they have to be the right players not just anyone to make the supporters happy. As for the Fulham link, whether or not Rowett is tempted by a hefty salary, we wait and see but I believe his loyalty is with Birmingham at this moment in time and would be surprised if he went.

    • Hillfield Blues says:

I would be surprised also. But it makes me wonder what sort of packages GR is being allowed to put together for these players. It became apparent over the summer that the likes of Tesche and Fabrini were well out of our budget so he could well be losing out because he can’t match their wages.

      • almajir says:

Neither Tesche nor Fabbrini were out of budget. Forest pulled a u-turn and decided not to let Tesche go after terms were agreed. Fabbrini we were gazumped by Boro.

  • Mitchell says:

Whatever happens tomorrow will define our season and I am not talking about new player or players coming in. I. Am referring to GR. No player would ever sign on loan if the manager intended leaving. I also cannot imagine Rowett allowing that situation to happen. So basically it is simplicity at its best:- no players in by 5pm tomorrow then put your house on GR leaving on Friday. Players in by 5pm tomorrow he stays.

  • KC says:

    Mitchell. Again bang on.

  • Jimbob says:

Well am at edgbaaton cricket ground tomorrow night with an evening with the one and only Gary Rowett, fingers crossed I haven’t paid £110 to see Fulham’s new manager :-(

  • StaffsBlue says:

Just been looking at the loans on Sky.com. It’s surprising how many loan players some Champs clubs have.

    Huddersfield Town 6
    Middlesbrough 6
    Nottingham Forest 6
    Preston North End 6
    Reading 6
    Sheffield Wednesday 6

And we have a grand total of 1. Stands to reason that we must have some scope at least.

(Swindon in League 1 have EIGHT loanees! No wonder Wes Thomas was left out on Saturday.)

    • zxcv says:

Just goes to show how the game has gone, they are just surviving and tbh its a miracle they are.I think the whole game as we knew it has gone forever and it drastically needs restructuring even the prem, The vile Fans have an almighty shock coming to them and even if they were to avoid the drop they will never be the club they once were, and it makes me wonder why we want to even bother going up other than the money but we don`t get any of that and its not why we are fans.

  • Singapore Brum says:

    2 comments to make.

1 – it is surprising how the term “budget” isn’t clearly understood here. If GR has been given 13m additional budget to play with, he could potentially do the following:
    a) Buy a player for 13m but only if that player’s isn’t paid any wages to the end of the season
    b) Buy a player for 10m and pay him wages up to 3m to the end of the season
    c) Buy a player for 1m and pay him wages up to 12m to the end of the season
    d) Buy a player for 4m, pay him wages of 2m to the end of the season, pay increases to 7 other players on improved contracts, give backroom staff increases, spruce up training facilities as long as total incremental spend does not exceed 13m to season end.
    e) Any combination of the above, including letting players go and saving costs and paying others more, as long as total incremental spend is not more than 13m.

That is the point that Dan was making earlier.

If the right player isn’t available now, and if it was my own personal money, I would wait for the transfer window to open and suck up for the next few weeks. There are options open to try different formations without wasting funds just for the sake of bringing someone in that you really aren’t convinced on.

2 – If the bookies are shortening the odds dramatically, they know something. It may not be a done deal, but it must be pretty darned close.

    • zxcv says:

      e) Any combination of the above, including letting players go and saving costs and paying others more, as long as total incremental spend is not more than 13m.

So please now tell us what part of the 13 million we have spent either on buying a player or loaning one and we are in the last 8 hours of the window. THE ANSWER, HALF A BLOODY MILLION. Please now tell me how is that the majority of 13 million, Also if contracts were budgeted for until the end of the financial year then we are only talking about the extra increases on the seven improved deals that were given, so lets say all seven players got an extra thousand pounds a MONTH, that’s seven thousand x 8 months only= 56 thousand pounds, Now I am well aware that they may have been given a lot more of an improvement than a thousand pounds a month but even at TEN times more is still only 560,000 spent Yes that’s just half a million added to the budget. I am willing to bet they did not get an extra 10,000 pounds a month altho a couple of them may have done but in the bigger picture its no where near even one million of the 13 million is it.

I pray Gary will stay but if he does not then this lot don`t deserve him.IMO.

  • BhamCityJulian says:

The £13m is a loan facility that doesn’t get replenished each season. The money has to last beyond this season, perhaps two more years until TTA buy that club

  • Dave Mann says:

Well we have until 5pm to get a striker or centre half in .. If not then maybe Mitchell might have a point on Rowett though I personally think he’s going nowhere , the plot will thicken as the clock ticks .. Tick Tock Tick Tock .. Kro

  • Mitchell says:

Yesterday was a bad day at the office. This site had a lot of ‘aggro’ -some aimed at Daniel-but more due to the fact that our manager might walk. Whichever way we angle it the stark reality is that we are a struggling club financially. This will go on probably for years. We take a man from Burton Albion and he improves things which is great but that’s it- nothing more. We hear about Fulham, a cash rich club – many would like the challenge backed up with dough- that’s it. and so on. Today we find out if Gary is staying by what he brings in. If nobody comes then we get the picture. My own view on the prospective Kozak deal is not good. Sooner either work with what we have or pull a loaned out player back in January.Lets hope today calms everyone with a new face at number 9.

  • Hillfield Blues says:

It’s going to be an interesting day one way or the other.More bothered by wheather or not we get some new faces in tbh. He’d be mad to walk out for Fulham and think he will confirm as much in his next PC.

  • AdamTrueBlue says:

I think he would be mad to leave us, where he is respected and in some cases worshipped, to ho to a place where he was not first or even second choice, two other managers have already turned them down.

  • StaffsBlue says:

Jeez, do we have to have this ‘will they, won’t they’ every bloody window? It would be nice if certain people actually came out and made things crystal clear. But then, this is Birmingham City, the club of smoke and mirrors.

8 hours till (hopefully) we find out what’s what.

  • Dave Mann says:

It’s all part of life being a Bluenose staffs, we’ve been round long enough to know to expect the unexpected .. It’s all par for the course , 5pm will give us a bit more insight one would think. Kro

  • Dave Mann says:

They wouldn’t make it that easy for us mate , we’ve had to deal with crap owners for the last 4 years and now we have to deal with the will we won’t we about our manager and players … It’s a wonderful life :-) kro

    • StaffsBlue says:

I’m a bit disappointed that the manager hasn’t come out and quashed all the rumours. I know he doesn’t have to react to speculation, but it would have been the decent thing to do. Still, if he buggers off, it’s not the end of the world. Just bloomin’ inconvenient.

  • southcoastblue says:

    If you’re reading this Gary……………………Please don’t go!

  • Bluenosesol says:

Havent a clue what GR is on but say its £500K. If we blow up this season and have a bad one next year, GR might find it hard to find a League One club on £250k. Now not sure what Fulham will offer, but let’s say its a 3 year contract worth £3m. I may not have the sums exact but I am sorry my family loyalties will always come before my Blues loyalties and no doubt GR is the same. A move from a club which remains in limbo to one which represents ambition and financial security along with the associated finances could be a no – brainer for GR. That said – I bet he stays!! KRO!

  • Dave Mann says:

The thing is £500,000 a year in Derby goes a lot further than £1 million in London , just a thought and that’s why I think he will stay . Kro

  • KC says:

Silence……. Silence…… Very frustrating. Isn’t there any local media at the training ground to at least report what is happening there ? First game 1957.

  • Surrey Blue says:

Gary is still a young manager and, despite the great job he has done for us which has rightly attracted the attention of other clubs, he has a long-term career to think of. If he takes the Fulham (or QPR) job, then he will be under considerably more pressure than here at Stans…
Fulham – and their owner – want success and if he goes there and only manages the play-offs or just outside them this season, then next season he will be under pressure from the off. Very quickly things could turn sour and by October 2016 he could be out of a job. There are a whole host of young managers who do well at one club and then get the boot, and are then no different to all those other out-of-work ex-managers
If he stays at Blues and we sneak into the play-offs or have a safe top-half finish, then maybe bigger and better clubs will come knocking on his door in the summer.

  • Mitchell says:

Just a muse. Years ago Steve Bruce let his heart rule his head and said NO to Newcastle in order to stay at Blues. Possible the biggest regret of his career. I think many managers remember this.

  • Dave Mann says:

Or should that be is head ruling is heart .. Is hearts with Newcastle but is head at the time said stay and finish the job but then we did have a good side then . Kro

  • I think if GR left it would be the final insult in football for me , we the fans pay our money to be entertained ? Who the hell am I kidding football is a way of life if not life itself , money doesn’t come into it , or else we would have give up 31/2 years ago , no Gary leaving would seem like Judas laughing at Christ on the cross , there is already an anger at the club amongst the fans ,for the owners for the football authorities , I think throwing my faith back in my face once more would be a journey to far ,

  • Dave Mann says:

We get knocked down but we always get back up and carry on and whatever happens in the coming hours or days that will not change …. If we loose our manager and don’t get any loans in then I will still be up for Brighton Saturday .. Even more so propably , it’s still Birmingham city we go to see whoevers manager , owners and whatever quality of players we have , that will never change . Kro

  • StaffsBlue says:

There’s no way that Rowett and the club aren’t aware of what’s being said and the fans feelings.

Three little words would suffice. ‘I’m going nowhere.’ We’re not even worth that it seems.

    • ZXCV says:

But why would you expect him to tell lies? Staffs He is no different to any player or any other manager, Do you really expect him to say “I am going nowhere”…….soon as the right offer comes his way he is gone.

  • Tony says:

Yes Staffs agree that’s all it would take, it would settle everyone down including any potential targets

  • Bluey says:

So if money isn`t the main issue in our abject failure to bring players in,what is? GR says they`re working tirelessly to get cover but it hasn`t happened (as yet). Other clubs seem to manage it so what is our problem?

  • StaffsBlue says:

Just over 4 hours to go.. and not a whisper coming out regarding the manager or players coming in. Let’s hope they’re all keeping their cards close to their chests and we’re in for a wonderful surprise come 5pm. What are the odds?

    • Mitchell says:

Vaughan of Huddersfield. surely no. Sends awful message to the squad.

      • StaffsBlue says:

His golas per game ratio is decent. It’s down to whether he’s fit.

At the end of the day, he can play as the lone forward, as long as the 3 behind get up in support.

      • ZXCV says:

If that’s true I give up, did you read what the Huddersfield Manager said, “He needs to go out on loan to get his fitness and some game time” FGS

          • dablue says:

you misinterpret the situation dave, he is and was good enough for them.. the reason why they are letting him go is because huddersfeild will owe norwich money for reaching a certain amount of games. I haven’t seen the contract but I know that to be factual (same reason foster got loaned to west brom).. it saves them a fee and they can gain by selling him. he just has to keep fit and all is well :)

        • blue says:

still has the record of prem youngest goalscorer. penalty against man united in f.a (everton days)cup a few years ago was class. was one of the fastest schoolboys around over 100m best thing about him is he is hard working and a team player, plus he can finish .. he hasn’t reached the heights he could of due to injuries, but I think they might of sorted the problems?

  • Dave Mann says:

And he his a brummie so that might help.kro

  • Steve in Yorkshire says:

Always like a Brummie in the team, but doubt Vaughan would be first choice in Rowett’s targets. If it’s all that’s available then so be it as a body. At the end of the day our set up doesn’t rely on the goals of the front man. Donaldson has been outstanding but other than Bristol City has hardly been prolific. We need a bit of nous and guile in there which Brock won’t have yet.

‘It ain’t what you got it’s the way that you do it!’ That could be Rowett’s motto. Couldn’t the team he inherited from Clark safely be described as misfits? Not a £10M striker, but has a lot of the qualities we lack, notably pace and finishing prowess at this level.

  • StaffsBlue says:

Vaughan cannot play against Huddersfield on 5th December,

  • Mitchell says:

4 weeks loan is quite short. Keep thinking of Dave Mann comment recently regarding whoever comes in PLAYS. No time and no good if on bench. Halford and Vaughan to start? Too risky in my eyes.

    • StaffsBlue says:

Personally, I think both will be on the bench, to start with at least.

      • Mitchell says:

No staffs I do not like that. No point at all in bench starts.Halford in for Spector and Vaughan in at CF. If it goes bad early doors-push Halford up front like he did at forest. Can’t bugger around for minimal matches on loan.if Kozak signs then maybe different, but as it stands play them.

        • StaffsBlue says:

I would play them from the start too Mitchell, but I’m not Mr Rowett… and we all know how ultra-cautious he is. He might let them have a look at the team for an hour before throwing one or both on.

      • BhamCityJulian says:

They’ll both play Saturday. “If you’ve got it baby, flaunt it”

  • tony a says:

just what we needed an experienced centre forward to help our young lads in the penalty area and a blue nose well done garry

  • Dave Mann says:

Agree Mitchell , straight in first eleven because he wouldn’t have got them in otherwise or am I missing something . Kro

  • StaffsBlue says:

A little coincidence, that 2 of Halford’s full debuts, for Sunderland and Sheffield Utd, were both against Blues. :)

  • zxcv says:

Seven games plus the Huddersfield game including the game on the 2nd Jan, Sounds like to me that he is saying if you do well enough we will maybe sign you in the window that’s why its only up to the window, or maybe he will have money like he has said he has to bring in who he really wants on a permanent deal. Seems like we have more questions than answers, Now who sang that? LOL

  • zxcv says:

There`s not much point bringing them in if he doesn`t play them, just wondering what that tells the players he leaves out.

  • Hillfield Blues says:

The only thing I can say about those 2 signings is that they probably suit the loaning clubs more than they do Blues.Real scraping the barrel stuff I’m afraid.

  • Dave Mann says:

And so was Michael Morrison Hillfield as eveyone keeps telling me, scrapping the barrell ? Let our staying manager be the judge of that yes ? ..the misfits might be tight fits , we’re see lol kro

    • Hillfield Blues says:

Well Dave,it’s his strength isn’t it.Turning average players into good players and fair play,I wish him the best with this pair and if Vaughn nets the winner at Brighton all will be forgotten.
I suppose I’m disappointed that he just can’t aim a little higher and find a reserve premiership striker that would fit straight in and know where the back of the net is instead of having to turn sows ears into silk purses all the time.

  • Mitchell says:

This time last week GR was talking about loaning Prem.players(2). Now we know what we have. Cynical side of me questions why these two and I can only come up with ‘placating the fans’. Sorry but that’s my theory. More than that I have to say I am not of the brigade who say ‘Gary knows what he is doing’ No other Champ.club would remotely go for these players. Desperate act to show some movement within the club. Prefer Gary to say ‘I am staying and we will work with the great set of very talented young players we have’ I will say no more- just very wary indeed of last few days actions.

    • StaffsBlue says:

I think you’re right. He made cock-ups not bringing in another centre back and leaving us short up front. He tried to appease the fans, but his plans went tits up. I think the backroom team have been wracking their brains all week and this is the best they could come up with at the last minute.

But, that’s not the fault of the new players. It’s up to the fans to give them a good welcome and full support whilst they’re here.

      • Hillfield Blues says:

Agree.I still think that despite what GR amongst others are saying, these signings reflect the fact that the purse strings are firmly tied.Surely we could have done better than these 2 otherwise?

    • Dave Mann says:

Mitchell , Gary knows what he’s doing , Ime not being patronising but we’re 6th in the championship .. Take stock and give the guys a chance , fair enough !! .. Because you no as well as I do I will slaughter mistakes from fans , manager and signings when we have a chance to but let’s see what happens Saturday .. Agreed !! Kro

      • KC says:

Yes let’s give it a chance, Vaughan is incredibly excited about the move and is going to run his socks off to make it permanent. Halford – who knows. On balance if and until he makes a move Rowett deserves huge support for what he has achieved and a big turnout against Huddersfield.

  • Texas Pete says:

Our manager is the envy of the championship ….doom and gloom from the fans. Staff working very hard to get players in on a tight budget….doom and gloom. We got two proven players in before the deadline …..doom and gloom. We are 6th in the table with a low budget……doom and gloom.
GR, the team, the staff and the club deserve better than a bunch of whiney cry babies. I am excited about a mature CB at 6’4″ and a forward with 33 goals in 90 games to add to the squad. Especially with GR STILL in charge. Brighton 1 Blues 1 please.

  • Turkish-bluenose says:

I think Gary is employed for a reason, and that reason is to make the best decisions for BCFC, have faith in Gary he hasn’t let us down and he has exceeded exspectations by anybody’s standerds from when he first took over, so have some faith in the bloke and start thinking positively, stop being so negative and back the blues! KRO!

  • Tony says:

In their day both have been good players. the fact one is injury prone and not fit at the moment. and the other cant get into a very poor side speaks volumes. However we have to see how it goes but disappointed.

  • BhamCityJulian says:

I think it’s terribly disrespectful to diss these players and Gary’s judgement before they’ve kicked a ball for us.

  • BhamCityJulian says:

Gary has a track record of improving players (Spector, Grounds, Shinnie, Gleeson, Donaldson, Cotterill, Davis); Morrison, Kieftenbeld are Kuszczak are ‘steals’. Toral, Tesche and Fabrinni classy. Let his sprinkle his magic dust on our two new boys and the rest onto N B-M

  • BhamCityJulian says:

I would suggest that Gary and Panos have shown great class in not revealing Fulham and QPR interest however informal. Why embarrass their owners? Just politely say ‘no’ and mutually keep it private.

  • StaffsBlue says:

How does everyone think a team like this would do over the coming weeks?

    Kusczcak

    Caddis Morrison Halford Grounds

    Gleeson Davis

    Gray Toral Maghoma

    Vaughan

  • Dave Mann says:

That’s the team for Brighton staffs for me , two big centre halfs and pace up front , look forward to Saturday but at the NIA tonight to see Paul Weller first off and after JAMing that one in with some STYLE I hope it’s onwards and upwards for Brighton and a good weekend had by all .. Weller and Brighton.. It’s like going back 35 years !!! Kro
